Bob McCarroll’s Vehicles: A Genre-Jumping Ride Through Heartache, Humor, and Humanity
Singer-songwriter Bob McCarroll returns with Vehicles, a bold and unpredictable musical journey that cruises through a wide landscape of sound and emotion. From bluesy ballads to sharp satire, McCarroll once again proves he’s unafraid to steer through any genre that helps tell the story.
The opening track, You’ll Never Know, sets the tone with a smoky, blues-soaked reflection on a fleeting love. Then comes Piece of Shit—a cathartic, raw, and oddly catchy anthem inspired by a friend’s post-divorce fury.
True to form, McCarroll injects biting wit into Sad Mr. Mustard, a clever, cynical update to the Beatles' classic that takes aim at modern life and media manipulation. The emotional range deepens with Bluer Than Blue, a heartfelt portrayal of life alongside a partner battling depression, and The Ghost of You, a hauntingly beautiful ballad that captures the ache of lingering love.
Blending sharp lyrical insight with genre-hopping musicianship, Vehicles is McCarroll at his most fearless and freewheeling. Whether laughing, crying, or both—this ride is worth every mile.

The cover image is of our family - once owned - 1968 Volkswagen Beetle purchased by my Dad direct from the factory in Germany. Most all of us had a chance at borrowing it for long periods of time and was restored by my older brother Bill. It finally sold in 2016 and still ran well. This picture was taken in 2016.
